Robert Horsay Awuah-Antwi retires

I have been asked by one or two of our many followers on social media (well one), what was going on in this photo which heads up our Facebook page and, more to the point, who is the resplendent mature gentleman pictured centre-stage?

The ‘team-shot’ was taken on our last working day of 2016 and the gentleman in question (the difficult to spot one in the gold embroidered suit with the red-shirt and matching tie) is Robert Horsay Awuah-Antwi. This was his last day with us, having turned 65 in November and we were off to the pub to celebrate what we hope to be a long and happy retirement for him. We are not quite sure when Robert originally joined us, as he has had two spells here, but the start of the second period was approximately 15 years ago, so overall he’s probably been repairing, checking and packing veneers for us for about 20 years.

In spite of being knocked off his bike on two separate occasions, the second time almost fatally by a double-decker bus, he has been a reliable and dependable employee, whose broad smile and eclectic culinary combinations will be missed.
