Our big news is our imminent relocation to a new bigger factory in the heart of Essex. On Wednesday 20th December we will shut the doors at Woodford Green for the last time and will re-open them on Tuesday 2nd January in our newly re-furbished 17,500 sq.ft factory in Essex’s fastest growing town (measured by density of veneer suppliers relocating their in the next six months).
Too little space, too little power, extortionate leasing costs and grid-locked traffic have finally made us see that our future would be much brighter in sunny Basildon (brightness measured by exposure to sunlight by bell-ringers in any Essex town – see pic).
An ancient town first recorded in 1086 in the Domesday book, it has been of surprisingly little historical significance for approx. 800 years (… well according to the Wikipedia) when a railway station opened in 1856 in nearby Pitsea.
Anyway we love it. The factory is big, has plenty of power, a massive yard, good transport and rail links, its on a trading estate that has everything from a Screwfix to Matalan, it’s just round the corner from the Hadleigh Olympic Park Mountain Biking Centre (slightly niche I know, but keeps me happy) and most spectacularly and importantly of all it has a Hollywood style sign.
Basildon, the glamour capital of Essex here we come!Share
